The ReGeneration Academy on Marine Engineering Powered by DNV is an intensive training program aiming to bridge the gap between engineering disciplines education and the realities of the shipping industry. The program will provide young engineers from various disciplines with a thorough overview of the shipping industry and technology, the safety and regulatory regime, maritime digital transformation, and decarbonization in shipping. Further, the essential soft skills and business aspects of working in maritime will also be covered. The program is designed by ReGeneration and classification society DNV, with the active support and engagement of the leading shipping companies Arcadia, Navarone, and W Marine.

The program will offer engineering graduates with limited or no experience in the maritime industry a complete overview and familiarization of the main technical and commercial aspects of the shipping industry. The maritime sector, which is particularly strong in Greece, has distinct characteristics that set it apart from other land-based industries. Shipping is a globalized industry, working 24/7 and the ship is a completely self-sustained isolated system in the middle of the ocean. Therefore, how we operate, manage, implement solutions, and solve technical problems for ships and fleets differs significantly from the land-based systems. The program will explore the particulars of marine engineering and it will set the perspective on how different skills from various engineering disciplines can be applied to maritime.
